English Teacher (Classes 1st to 6th)

Kuruwan Public School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher for Classes 1st to 6th. The teacher will be responsible for developing students’ English language skills through engaging, activity-based and child-friendly teaching methods. The candidate should have good command of spoken and written English and should be able to create a positive and disciplined classroom environment.

• Qualification: Graduate in English or any relevant discipline. B.Ed./D.El.Ed. or equivalent teacher-training qualification preferred.

• Duties: 1. Teach English to students from Classes 1 to 6. 2. Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary and grammar skills. 3. Prepare effective lesson plans, worksheets, classroom activities and assessments. 4. Encourage students to communicate confidently and effectively in English. 5. Use interactive, creative and activity-based teaching methods. 6. Maintain classroom discipline and create a positive and engaging learning environment. 7. Assess students’ academic progress and provide individual guidance and support where required. 8. Maintain accurate student records, assessment reports and other academic documentation. 9. Participate actively in school events, co-curricular activities and academic programmes. 10. Work collaboratively with other teachers and communicate effectively with parents regarding students’ progress. 11. Demonstrate strong spoken and written English, effective communication, classroom management skills, patience, creativity and a child-friendly attitude.
